Anglais

Why do I love to teach?

What I love about teaching is the chance to work with young people. What I love about teaching English is the chance to make grammar into something tangible and dynamic.

An author that is inspirational to me

My inspirational author is J.K. Rowling, for creating an entire world in which children are wise and resilient and resourceful.

My favorite quote

This quote represents how I feel about comfort and hospitality. “Come along inside...We'll see if tea and buns can make the world a better place.” (The Wind in the Willows.)

My interests

Some of my interests include Irish culture and history, tablescaping, and walking the dog. Also, anyone who knows me knows that I am truly a cat person at heart.

My favorite fictional hero

One of my favourite fictional heroes is Atticus Finch. (To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.)

The aspects of English I am passionate about

My favourite aspects of the English language are its fascinating history, its variety of dialects and accents, and its versatility in adopting vocabulary and expressions from other cultures. I also appreciate the fact that the English are the originators of that most relaxing of rituals known as Afternoon Tea.
